10-Year Warranty Terms
Effective from: 01 septiembre 2026
Warranty Provider: SEZ – HOLDING s.r.o., Hornádska 1, 053 42 Krompachy, Slovak Republic, ID No: 44519044 (“SEZ”)
1. Scope of the Warranty
SEZ provides a 10-year warranty for SEZ Cam Switches expressly identified by the 10 Series designation at the time of purchase.
2. Warranty Period
The warranty applies to the 10 Series Cam Switches when correctly installed and used for their intended application.
The warranty period for 10 Series Cam Switches is 10 years and begins on the date of first commissioning for Cam Switches commissioned by SEZ. For all other 10 Series Cam Switches, the warranty period begins on the date of purchase by the customer from SEZ, an authorized distributor, or an authorized seller.
For 10 Series Cam Switches commissioned by SEZ, the date of first commissioning is documented in SEZ’s commissioning records.
If the customer is unable to provide the commissioning documentation, SEZ’s commissioning records shall be used to determine the date of first commissioning.
3. Warranty Coverage
SEZ warrants that the covered 10 Series Cam Switches will be free from:
- defects in materials;
- defects in workmanship; and
- premature mechanical wear,
provided that the product has been correctly selected, installed, operated and maintained in accordance with its intended purpose, applicable SEZ technical documentation and the conditions specified for the product.
4. Correct Installation and Operation
For the warranty to apply, the Cam Switch must be correctly installed and connected:
- in accordance with the applicable SEZ installation instructions and technical documentation; and
- by a suitably qualified person where required by applicable regulations or the nature of the installation.
The product must be operated within its specified electrical, mechanical and environmental parameters and used for its intended application.
5. One-for-One Replacement
If SEZ confirms that a 10 Series Cam Switch has developed a covered defect or premature mechanical wear during the warranty period, SEZ will provide a one-for-one replacement.
The defective product will be replaced by:
- the same product type; or
- where the original product is no longer manufactured or is otherwise unavailable, a technically equivalent SEZ product.
The selection of a technically equivalent replacement product will be determined by SEZ based on the technical requirements and intended application of the original product.
6. Replacement at No Cost
Where a warranty claim is confirmed by SEZ as covered by this warranty, SEZ will provide the replacement Cam Switch and transportation of the replacement product to the agreed delivery location at no charge to the customer.
The costs of removal of the defective Cam Switch, installation of the replacement product, commissioning, labour and other associated services are not included in the warranty unless otherwise agreed in writing by SEZ.
The exact procedure and coordination of the replacement will be agreed between SEZ and the customer, authorized distributor or authorized seller handling the warranty claim.
7. Warranty Claim Procedure
A warranty claim may be submitted:
- directly to SEZ;
- through an authorized distributor; or
- through an authorized seller from whom the product was purchased.
The claimant must provide sufficient information for SEZ to identify the product and assess the warranty claim.
The claim should include, where available:
- product designation and type;
- product identification or serial number;
- SEZ’s commissioning records;
- application and operating conditions;
- description of the failure or observed wear;
- proof of purchase or other documentation establishing the warranty period; and
- photographs, test results or other information reasonably requested by SEZ.
SEZ may require the defective Cam Switch to be made available for inspection or returned for technical assessment.
8. Assessment of the Warranty Claim
SEZ will assess the reported defect or premature mechanical wear and notify the claimant of its decision within 30 calendar days of receiving all information and documentation reasonably required to assess the claim.
If SEZ requires additional information or documentation from the claimant, the 30-day period will begin upon receipt of such information or documentation.
A warranty claim is covered where the failure is attributable to a defect in materials, workmanship or premature mechanical wear and the conditions of these Warranty Terms have been met.
SEZ may perform a technical inspection or testing before confirming the warranty claim.
If the reported failure is not covered by this warranty, SEZ will inform the claimant of the reason.
9. Exclusions
The warranty does not apply to defects, damage or failures resulting from:
- incorrect installation or wiring;
- installation contrary to SEZ technical documentation;
- installation by an unqualified person where applicable regulations require qualified installation;
- incorrect product selection or use outside the intended application;
- operation outside the specified electrical, mechanical or environmental parameters;
- damage resulting from overloading, short circuits or other operating conditions exceeding the product specification or the product’s specified withstand capabilities;
- mechanical damage, impact, excessive force or improper handling;
- improper storage or transportation contrary to SEZ’s specified storage or transportation conditions;
- unauthorized modification, alteration or repair;
- use of the product contrary to SEZ instructions or technical documentation;
- damage caused by external equipment, connected systems or other components;
- abnormal environmental conditions outside the product specification;
- other circumstances unrelated to defects in materials, workmanship or premature mechanical wear.
For the purposes of these Warranty Terms, premature mechanical wear means mechanical wear occurring materially earlier than the expected service life or number of operating cycles specified by SEZ for the relevant product.
Normal wear and tear that does not constitute premature mechanical wear is not covered by this warranty.
10. Replacement Product and Warranty Period
The replacement product supplied under this warranty replaces the defective product and does not automatically restart the original 10-year warranty period. The replacement product remains covered until the expiry of the warranty period applicable to the defective product.
11. No Limitation of Mandatory Rights
This warranty is a voluntary manufacturer warranty provided by SEZ in addition to any mandatory rights and remedies available to the customer under applicable law. Nothing in these Warranty Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
12. Applicable Law
These Warranty Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Slovak Republic, unless mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.
13. Final Provisions
The current version of these Warranty Terms applies to 10 Series Cam Switches purchased on or after the effective date stated above.
SEZ reserves the right to amend these Warranty Terms for future purchases.
The warranty terms applicable to a specific product are those in force and applicable at the time of purchase, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
